haneoka.net is my anime site collective, but it originally started out as "Haneoka's Collective" when I still hadn't gotten my domain and was using haneoka.cjb.net as the URL. Since then, I've worked on expanding the sites within and attempting to keep the layouts fresh and interesting. See for yourself. ;)

Version 1.0: The perfect example of an overambitious layout. I desperately wanted to feature Saint Tail in my first layout (seeing as the collective is named after her...), but the layout that I created, the black one, was really only suitable for Internet Explorer users (as well as those with fairly high resolutions). So, I had to create an alternate version and a splash page for visitors to choose the appropriate page, which overall was just a pain for everyone and for me. I still really like the black Saint Tail layout, because she is just so fittingly cute, but otherwise this first layout is one which causes more problems than it's worth.

Version 2.0: This layout features Yukino and her sisters from Kareshi Kanojo no Jijou, one of my all-time favorite anime/manga series. I definitely needed a simpler layout than the one above, which was easier to update and all. It's not bad, but I'm not sure about the color scheme still. Hmm.

Version 3.0: I consider this better than previous layouts simply for the elegant picture of Sakura (which, of course, does not make the entire layout elegant). Still, that picture, from one of my Card Captor Sakura manga shitajiki, is the best thing about the design.

Version 4.0: A fresh, light layout featuring Maron from Kamikaze Kaitou Jeanne, this is still one of my favorites. I actually went to the trouble of making title designs for all the subpages, which I usually don't bother with any more. But it all matches and makes for a pretty pink design.

Version 5.0: This design fell around Halloween time, but naturally stayed on through November. I felt the Sakura picture was just too perfect for the season, and besides Sakura is a favorite subject of mine for designs. She was originally sitting on a column, but I sort of made that into the main menu. As I recall, the picture took forever to edit.

Version 6.0: It's absolutely embarassing how long this layout stayed up. I had plenty of plans for the 2002...new layout, new content, etc. And whoosh! They all went down the drain, and this holiday layout featuring Ran (GALS!) stayed. And stayed. And stayed. Till about mid-July. It's a cute, clean layout, but hey, life interfered and it overstayed its welcome.

Version 7.0: Anything. I was willing to put up anything after seeing the Ran layout six months too long. I was actually revising the Version 4.0 layout to put back up, but that got put off eventually, and finally disgusted with everything, I made this extremely plain but functional layout featuing Usagi (Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon) eating ramen (it incidentally didn't take long). You have no idea how many times I've eaten ramen at 4 A.M. while trying to finish a paper. I thought it was quite fitting.

Version 8.0: The last layout was never supposed to stay there for very long, and well--it didn't. Trying to go back to more complicated layouts (well...slightly. Yes, I am aware of what the "standard" level for anime site layouts are at now. Oh well.), I was inspired by one of my scans of Sakura looking absolutely clueless, as I often feel. So, this slightly more compact layout was done.

Version 9.0: Finally a layout I was really happy with. Featuring Chihiro & co. from the lovely Miyazaki film Spirited Away (scanned in from my own artbook), I thought this ended up as a very clean layout with all of the design in one corner. The "cloudy" background was generated through Photoshop 7.0, and while I'm not really happy with it, the original background (edited out by me) didn't fit either. I made the link labels a little fancier this time, as they're laid on top of what looks like an oval, but it's actually a really large "O" in a specific font.

Version 10.0: Pink! Yes...it is very pink. I thought it would make a nice change from all the blue layouts that I seem to have scattered around. This layout marks the move for haneoka.net to its own server, so I thought a return to Saint Tail was in order. ^_^ I had a lot of problems deciding what kind of background should go behind Saint Tail, and I finally went with making the graphic transparent. The page background was made using some filters in photoshop; I don't really like it but I wanted something a little more interesting than a plain background. Overall, I like the layout; I compacted a bunch of pages into one, and I spent a lot of time editing the sweet picture of SD Saint Tail (one of my own scans ^^).
